Hydraulic Sci-Fi Mechanical Piston Sounds

Surprisingly my nearly 40 year old car is able to create some great Sci-Fi hydraulic piston sounds.

I clipped the magnetic Tellus Mic from Oaka Instruments next to the boot strut of the car. By moving the boot up and down at different speeds I was able to record some super clean hydraulic piston movements with the occasional clunk of the boot latch.

These sounds would work brilliantly when layered up with mechanical clunks and hits to create spaceships, robots, exo skeleton mech suits, rockets, weapons and many more weird and wonderful Sci-Fi sounds.
