Wood Friction Scrapes & Squeaks - Sawing

Contact microphone recordings of a saw cutting through a wooden branch.

Clipping the Magnetic Oaka Instruments Tellus microphone to a hand saw I managed to capture creaks, stutters and the friction of a saw blade cutting into wood.

Interestingly the pitch differed when I was sawing towards or away from myself. These pitch glides would work great as risers or downers mixed into music and sound design.

My favourite sound from this session was the Stutters. Really cool potential for creating monster growls or roars.
